Two Roots Brewing has a nifty tasting room in Ocean Beach. Their beers are good and the setting is very nice. Relax in the large window open to the street, or at the long bar.
I did not drink beer at Hodad’s original location in Ocean Beach. I recommend you don’t, too.
Plan 9 Alehouse in Escondido is a nice spot for lunch and a beer. They have a quality guest craft beer list in addition to offering several made on site. The science fiction these is subtle but a nice touch.
Babgy Beer Co. is right up there with one of the best craft beer experiences you can have. Check out their gorgeous Oceanside restaurant, especially the patios (plural), and sample some world-class beer. #localbeer #sdbeer #oceanside #independentbeer #beercation
Knotty Barrel, a beer bar and tasting room for its Knotty Brewing brand, has a wonderful space. The tap list is extensive and excellent, though too light on their own beers. #sdbeer #sandiegobeer #localbeer #independentbeer
The January 2019 update on #breweries #brewery and #tastingrooms #tastingroom locations in #SanDiego. SD is now home to 160 breweries (+3 compared to December) and 43 tasting rooms (+1) as of the end of January 2019.
13 Point Brewing is Lemon Grove’s first brewery, and San Diego’s first brewery opened in 2019. It is a nice spot and they are off to a great start. #craftbeer #craftbrewery #sdbeer
For a fun, interesting beer tour in Miramar that doesn’t require transportation between breweries, check out the Miralani Makers District. #craftbeer #beercation #beertour
Craving an authentic pub experience? Fourpenny House is as close to a Scottish pub as you’ll find in San Diego. The beer and food and very good, and the atmosphere is excellent.
Small net growth of 2% in San Diego craft breweries over 2017, but a whole lot of interesting detail and context led to that result. Check out my “SD Beer in 2018” post.
Melvin’s large, elegant tasting room is excellent, and so is the beer.
Is the new Modern Times in Encinitas the best tasting room in San Diego County? #sdbeer #sandiegocraftbeer #craftbeer
Papa Marce’s Cerveceria, located next to Rouleur Brewing in the Carlsbad brewery ignitor, is pretty new but already making a wide range of very good beers.
San Diego has 207 breweries+tasting rooms! Three closures and four openings since last month’s update. 156 breweries, 37 satellite tasting rooms and 14 non-San DIego brew pubs. #sdbeer #craftbeer
Thirty #craftbeer locations have closed in #SanDiego since the beginning of 2016. All but ten have or will likely reopen under a new name/owner, so the “real” closure rate is only about 3.6 closures per year. Out of the 190+ craft beer locations in San Diego, that’s not very many at all.
The newest addition to the Mason Ale Works family, the Tap Room and Kitchen in Carmel Valley is bound to be a hit for its extensive house and guest beer list, including a large fridge for specialty and to go items. #sdbeer #craftbeer
Midnight Jack Brewing in Oceanside is nice tasting room, for a tasting room in an industrial building. The beer I tried was just average. #craftbeer #SanDiego
ChuckAlek's brewery in Ramona is not a nice as their North Park biergarten, so I'd save the trip if I were you and just go to their North Park location. #craftbeer #SanDiego
Some people love Dos Desperados Brewery in San Marcos. I didn't have a great experience there. #craftbeer #sandiego
